Our retreats take place at some of the most beautiful accommodations in the Douglas Shire, North Queensland. They range from hidden gems in the rainforest to luxury villas and boutique apartments.
Here are some of the beautiful accommodations we work with:
Since 2003, The Botanical Ark Retreat has offered more than just exclusive Daintree accommodation. It is your own private, peaceful family villa, with private beach and free WiFi, set within the globally unique rainforest conservation garden of The Botanical Ark. This secluded property borders the Daintree National Park yet is within 35-minutes of the Daintree River and Port Douglas, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.
Casa Blanca is a unique property within the township of Port Douglas and is within 200 leisurely footsteps of a quiet area of Four Mile Beach. It sleeps up to 11 guests in ‘king size’ comfort. The main street of Port Douglas is a few minutes drive away by car. Every comfort has been thought of for your tropical holiday in Port Douglas.
Architecturally designed for all your senses, you will feel Niramaya’s subtle energy and swim in its natural beauty. The fragrance of frangipani floats on the light breeze – through soaring pavilions, into private courtyards and over the lillipad dotted lakes. Niramaya, literally, rejuvenation of the body through returning oneself to nature, is a boutique sanctuary of exclusive villas set amongst 15 hectares of gardens in Australia’s tropical north.
If you prefer to stay in another place that has space for workshops and exercises – no problem, we will bring the wellness retreat to you. Just contact us and we will get in contact with the accommodation of your choice.
The Douglas Shire is embedded in two world heritage sites: The Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. The Daintree is the world’s oldest living rainforest. It is an area of captivating natural beauty, described as:
“the most extraordinary place on earth” (Sir David Attenborough)
The Daintree being part of Australia’s Wet Tropics National Landscape is also home to the oldest living rainforest cultures: Aboriginal tribal groups whose connections date back more than 60,000 years.
It is also home for half of Australia’s bird species, one third of the continent’s mammals and over 3,000 plant species and remains a crucial habitat for rare and threatened species including the spectacular, flightless Southern Cassowary and the elusive tree kangaroo. This epitomizes for many what a true rainforest experience is supposed to be. The story of earth’s evolutionary history continues to unfold here.
The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest reef system with over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands. It stretches over 2,600 kilometers over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometers
This underwater paradise is one of the most diverse ecosystems on earth. It is a living home to over 6,600 species of marine plant and animal species including 1,500 species of fish, 4,000 species of molluscs and 360 types of coral.
The Douglas Region is the perfect place to retreat and relax, to kick off a healthier mind & body regime through a wellness program and to learn from and about nature. It is a most suitable environment for change works and to re-connect with life. It offers one of the best settings for creative board meetings and team building exercises, to brainstorm for new ideas and innovation.
